Water Restrictions

Water Conservation or Restrictions are determined by the Town of Black Diamond's Bylaw 18-06 Water Use and Conservation Bylaw.  During times when there is not a need to have Restrictions in place, we are at Level 1, which provides for conservation measures.  Residents are asked to implement good water conservation practices on a daily basis.  It's great for our environment and it helps to lower utility bills.  Visit our Sustainability pages to learn more about water conservation, or download our brochure for watering days/times.

If the Town needs to move to Level 2, then Mandatory Water Restrictions are in effect, and fines can be used if necessary. At this time, the blue Level 2 signs will be placed on the 3 Community Entrance Signs and the Town Office sign indicating a Level 2 Water Restriction is in place. Notices will go out to the public using various media options, including this website, social media, news outlets, etc.

Level 3 Emergency Water Restrictions are very restricting, offering no opportunity for outdoor water use at all. Again, there are fines for violating Level 3 restrictions, heavier than for Level 2, and the blue signs on the Community Entrance Signs and the Town Office signs will now indicate Level 3 water restrictions.  As with Level 2, Level 3 restrictions would be advertised to the community, using various media options, including this website, social media, news outlets, etc.
