Family and Community Support Services
Diamond Valley Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) operates as a Town department, but 80% of its funding is provided by the provincial government. FCSS funds must be allocated according to provincial funding criteria for locally driven preventative social service initiatives. Diamond Valley FCSS strives to build a strong and resilient community by providing supports that strengthen, enrich, and enhance the quality of life of its citizens. It does this through working in partnership with community and government agencies and supporting local programs.
The FCSS coordinator is available by phone, email or appointment to connect residents to available resources that can be of help for a wide variety of needs. Some of the local partners associated with the FCSS network include the following:
- Babysitter Training and Stay Safe Courses
- BGC Foothills (formerly known as Boys & Girls Club)
- Greater Foothills Family Resource Centre
- FFAS (Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society)
- Foothills Country Hospice Society
- Foothills Regional Victim Services
- Literacy for Life Foundation
- Okotoks Family Resource Centre
