Public Involvement

Legislation requires municipalities to consult with affected landowners, stakeholders, agencies, residents and the general public when considering annexation. The Town’s public consultation program involves the following:

  1. Meeting directly with landowners in the annexation area.
  2. Annexation web page providing details on annexation proposal and process, and access to relevant plans, reports, and studies.

  4. Public Open House on October 15 from 4 – 8 PM at the Black Diamond Council Chambers. Council representatives and administration from the Town of Black Diamond and the MD of Foothills will be in attendance to answer questions and receive feedback.
  5. ***UPDATE** 2nd Public Open House on April 2 from 4 – 8pm at the Black Diamond Council Chambers. Council representatives and administration from the Town of Black Diamond and the Foothills County will be in attendance to answer questions and receive feedback.

  7. Council Public Hearing: When an agreement is reached by the negotiating committee, it will be presented to the respective Municipal Councils at a Public Hearing. The public will have opportunity to address questions and concerns regarding the annexation directly to Council.
