[ARCHIVED] Christmas Tree Disposal Service Change

Christmas Trees - Curbside Pickup square

Christmas Tree Disposal Service Change

The Town of Diamond Valley will no longer be offering curbside Christmas tree pickup. As part of Budget 2026 discussions, and due to recent staffing reductions, the Town is transitioning to a more efficient and sustainable disposal model. In previous years, curbside pickup required multiple passes through the community and significant staff and equipment time. With reduced capacity, a centralized drop-off program has been introduced.

Residents may dispose of natural Christmas trees at the designated drop-off point:

• Location: Disc Golf and Field of Dreams parking lot (access via the Field of Dreams entrance)
• Dates: January 2–31, 2026
• Hours: Daylight hours
• Requirements: All lights, ornaments, tinsel, and tree stands must be removed.

At the end of January, Town staff will collect and dispose of trees from this single location, significantly reducing operational hours compared to the past curbside program.

The staff report related to this change is available in the December 3, 2025 Consent Agenda www.diamondvalley.town/Council
