Dog Licence Application

All Diamond Valley dog owners are required to obtain a valid dog license for their furry companions, which is renewable annually. This licence not only ensures the well-being of your pet, but also contributes to the overall safety and harmony of our community.

To streamline the application process, we've created this user-friendly form for you to apply for your dog's licence. By licensing your dog, you're not only fulfilling a legal requirement but also supporting initiatives that promote pet welfare and responsible ownership.

  3. Dog owners residing in Diamond Valley are required to obtain a Dog Licence in accordance with the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw. Dogs under 6 months of age do not require a licence.  Dog licences are effective until December 31 each year, with renewals due by January 31 of the following year.

To initiate the licensing process, kindly complete the Dog Licence Application form below and submit the required payment. Payments can be made conveniently via e-transfer sent to or paid via credit card through our online Option Pay system (a small fee applies to credit card transactions). Payments can also be made in cash, by cheque, or debit at the Municipal Office.

Once you submit this application and the applicable payment, your dog tag(s) will be mailed to the address you have provided, unless you contact us to make alternate arrangements (such as stopping in to the Town Office to pick up your tags during regular business hours).

For any changes to your dog licence, such as replacing a lost tag, updating your address, or canceling automatic renewal notices for pets that have passed away or no longer reside in Diamond Valley, please submit an Animal Licence Change Form.

Residents may also apply for Temporary Dog Licences for $5, ideal for periods of animal care lasting less than 30 days. Residents are allowed a maximum of two (2) renewals per calendar year for Temporary Dog Licences.

Keep in mind that the dog licence tag is a permanent identification, requiring an annual renewal payment. In the event of a lost tag, a replacement can be obtained for a fee of $10.

Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and ensuring the safety and well-being of your canine companion in Diamond Valley.
