2025 Diamond Valley Parade

All groups except, "walkers only", must carry liability insurance in order to participate in the parade. 
If you are unable to upload your insurance below, you must submit no later than June 1, 2025.

Parade Line-Up Information

• Line-up begins: 8:00 am

Important Reminder: No one will be permitted to cross barricades after 9:30 am. Please ensure all participants, vehicles, and equipment are in place before this time.

Registration Details

• The registration contact person is responsible for providing their group with all muster, parking, and event information.
• Only the registration contact person will receive important information once registrations are confirmed.
• Insurance Requirement:
  Proof of liability insurance must be submitted to Loralee Bean, Event Coordinator, if not included in this form

Completed registration forms must be submitted by Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Muster and Entrance Locations

Detailed information regarding muster points will be communicated by email within 14 days of submitting your registration form or by June 2, 2025

• Equine Entries: Enter via HWY 22 → Willow Ridge Blvd → 3 St SW.
• Floats, Walkers, and Bands/Entertainment: Enter via Centre Ave W → South on 3 St SW. If you want to line up close to another group, ensure you arrive at the same time.
• Dignitaries and VIPs: Enter via HWY 22 → 5th Ave.
• Classic Cars: Enter via HWY 22--> 5th Ave or HWY 22 --> Willow Ridge Blvd --> 3 St SW.

Parking Instructions

• Large buses: Park in the curling rink parking lot.
• Other vehicles:Please park outside the parade area. Parking is NOT permitted:
  • At the arena.
  • Along roadways.
  • At the high school.
    To avoid traffic jams and parking issues, participants are encouraged to carpool.

Additional Arrangements

If you require a location to store items or get dressed, please contact Loralee by June 1, 2025, to make arrangements.

• Parade starts: 10:00 am sharp.

Parade Rules and Guidelines

1. Arrival and Line-Up:

   • Marshalling will take place at the Oilfields Regional Arena.
   • All parade entries must be registered and in place by 9:30 am.
   • Entries must remain in their original line-up order throughout the parade.

2. Sound Notifications:

   • Entries with sound must indicate this in the Sound section of the Entry Form.

3. Safety Rules:

   • Candy and novelties must not be thrown from floats; they may only be handed out by participants.
   • Use soft foam balls if sports equipment is part of the entry.
   • Riders in vehicles or floats must remain seated or use handrails/devices for safety.
   • Water pistols, balloons, and super-soakers are not allowed.
   • Entrants must maintain control of participants, vehicles, and animals at all times.

4. Behaviour and Conduct:

   • All participants must follow directions from parade personnel regarding placement, pace, etc.
   • Float decorations and behaviour must be appropriate for a family-friendly event. Contact events@diamondvalley.town for approval if unsure.
   • No alcohol consumption or possession is allowed during the parade. Violators will be subject to removal and/or arrest.

5. General Information:

   • All entries are subject to review and approval. The Parade Coordinator reserves the right to deny or condition entries as needed.
   • Participation is at your own risk. The Town of Diamond Valley is not responsible for the actions of parade participants.
   • Only invited elected officials (MP, MLA, and regional municipal representatives) may participate. Politically affiliated groups or advocacy groups/organizations with strong political or ideological messaging are not permitted.

As the spokesperson for the Participant (business, organization, or individual) in the Town of Diamond Valley, Diamond Valley Parade, you acknowledge that you and all members of your group (the Participant) are fully aware of the nature and extent of the risks involved in the parade and assume all risks associated with participation. This includes risks associated with utilizing streets and land owned by the Town of Diamond Valley.

Vehicle and Insurance Requirements

• All motorized vehicles used to tow, power, or operate as part of the parade entry must have valid insurance coverage and be operated by a person(s) with a valid driver’s license.
• Equine entries must provide proof of Alberta Equine Federation (AEF) or equivalent insurance. Insurance information must be submitted via the form below or as photocopies of insurance certificates.

Liability Release

The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Town of Diamond Valley, including its agents, employees, and volunteers, shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage suffered by the Participant arising from participation in the parade.

By signing this waiver, the Participant fully releases the Town of Diamond Valley, its agents, employees, and volunteers from any and all liability, now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to, the application of the common law principle of volenti non fit injuria, which operates to protect the Town of Diamond Valley, its agents, employees, and volunteers.

Media Release

The Participant understands and agrees that pictures or videos of them, or their parade entry, may be taken during the event. These images may be used for advertising, promotions, websites, and social media.

Agreement to Guidelines

The Participant confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the guidelines and regulations as outlined in the Parade Registration Form and this waiver document.

Be sure to email yourself a copy of your registration to keep a copy of this agreement on file.

The personal information collected through the Parade Registration form is for the purpose of obtaining consent to participate and to register for the Diamond Valley Parade as well as to be contacted in future years as a previous participant.
