Camping in Diamond Valley

and Surrounding Area


Diamond Valley provides many opportunities for campers in town or nearby.  Please note that camping and overnight stays are permitted ONLY in designated camping areas. Camping and overnight stays in parking lots, along the river, or in parks is not permitted.

The Town of Diamond Valley Municipal Campground offers campsites of various sizes with and without electricity (30 amp) located in the heart of our Turner Valley community with a maxiumum stay of 14 days per month.  Campers will be located near the pool, spray park, river, and downtown businesses with easy day access to the wilds of Kananaskis. The Friendship Trailhead, a 3 km walking/biking path along HWY 22 that connects the historic Diamond Valley communities of Turner Valley and Black Diamond, is located in Millennium Park adjacent to the campground.

*We only allow 14-day stays except during off-peak months of May, September and October.

Foothills Lions Bob Lochhead Memorial Campground can be found at the end of the Friendship Trail from the Diamond Valley Municipal Campground, they offer long term camping options.  Visit Foothills Lions Club website for more information.

Kananaskis Campgrounds in Sheep River Provincial Park offer various camping facilities that appeal to individuals, groups, and equestrian users

Back-country Camping is available in Kananaskis, west of town, and requires a permit in Alberta.

**Reservations may be required for your Kananaskis camping, especially during High Season**
