The upcoming ice season is set to begin in October.
Registration available for:
Pre-CanSkate is designed for 3 to 5-year-olds who have never skated before or have very little skating background. This program focuses on teaching the kids basic movement on the ice without the use of movement aids, enabling them to stand and move with no assistance from the coaches and program assistants.
CanSkate is an introductory learn-to-skate program designed for all kids, whether they wish to play hockey, ringette, speed skate, figure skate or skate just for fun. The new Skate Canada CanSkate program is based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development principles which looks to provide kids with the basic skill development for their chosen path and promote fun, fitness and participation. The program focuses on balance, control and agility skills that are taught in six stages.
Preliminary Prep (Pre-StarSkate) is designed for skaters wanting to pursue the figure skating branch of skating. This is the bridge program between CanSkate and STARSkate. This program is the continuation of the CanSkate levels five and six and introduces beginning figure skating skills.
StarSkate is for skaters wishing to continue in figure skating. This program continues to develop fundamental skating skills while training them to be able to take the standardized Skate Canada tests and compete in competitions. Skaters will be trained in four disciplines: Freeskate, Interpretive, Skills and Ice Dance.
