RV Storage & Parking

The Town of Black Diamond amended the Land Use Bylaw to revise the regulations for parking recreational vehicles and trailers in all residential areas.

The regulations apply to the following vehicles and trailers:

Between April 1 and October 31, up to 2 of the above-listed trailers and vehicles may be parked in a front driveway. They must be set back a minimum of 1 m from the back of the sidewalk, or 1.5 m from the back of the curb in instances where there is no sidewalk.

The above-listed trailers and vehicles may not be parked on a front lawn or landscaped area. They must be parked on a driveway. Front driveways are limited in width to 9.15 m, and must be constructed of material suitable to support vehicle traffic such as gravel, concrete or asphalt.

Between November 1 and March 31, parking recreational vehicles and trailers in a front driveway is prohibited.

Up to 2 recreational vehicles and/or trailers may be parked in the side or rear yard of a residential property year-round.

Recreational vehicles may be parked on a street year-round for up to 48 hours at a time.

No trailers or recreational vehicles may be parked on a street unless they are attached to a tow vehicle.

Failure to comply with the regulations may result in a fine.
